After pursuing many creative interests as a child, Andrew eventually settled on music, as he grew older. While his initial piano lessons grew into a chore, he never got bored of free time with the keys to come up with new harmonies and sonorities.  As certain he continued his musical journey, he grew interested in theory, counterpoint, form and analysis.  Slowly, the various ways to structure music became clear, and he began his first compositions.

Andrew decided to pursue a Bachelor of Music in Theory/Composition at the University of Minnesota.  As a freshman, he quickly tested out of first-year theory and later obtained the departmental Award for Excellence in Advanced Music Theory.  At the same time, Andrew developed an interest in composing on the computer using virtual instruments.

After hearing some of his sample work, theatre professor Kate Ufema hired him to score for her latest full-length dramatic production, “The Diviner’s”.  While working on the music, Andrew had the opportunity to work with renowned Cirque du Soleil sound designer Jake Davis. For three more years, Andrew would learn the delicate art of creative collaboration through his time spent on a modern theatrical design team.

In 2008, he won first prize in the DSSO Orchestral Composition Competition for his piece Return to Creation, attracting the attention of local music professors, teachers, and peers. Since then, he has professionally scored dozens of pieces to be placed in everything from movies to viral advertisements.

Currently, Andrew is in high demand for his ability to create an incredibly broad range of instrumental music. Additionally, he is known for his sensitivity to compositional direction, never losing focus of the project objective and always ready to create.
